Geopanel® - Formwork

GEOTUB

GEOTUB is the first reusable formwork in plastic for the production of round columns: unlike other formwork (in wood or cardboard), it is easy and quick to dismantle and it does not require any releasing agents.

The advantages

  • quick installation and dismantiling
  • suitable for columns up to 6 m
  • excellent smooth surfaces

Solutions

  • BUILDING ELLIPTICAL COLUMNS
  • BUILDING FOUNDATIONS FOR ELECTRICITY PYLONS
  • CREATION OF PRECAST COLUMNS
  • MARINE SOLUTIONS
  • RENOVATION OF DEGRADED COLUMNS
  • ROUND COLUMNS
  • SEISMIC HAZARD ADJUSTMENT

GEOTUB® ist a modular formwork in ABS plastic material, resistant to UV and chemical agents.

The forms are very light and can be handled manually and installed by a single person. The product can be reused more than 100 times.

The internal smoothness of the formwork and the quality of the material guarantee a pleasant look and allow an easy installation and dismantling without any releasing agent. After the pour, remove any external deposit of concrete and clean the product with water.

The single forming elements are quickly and easily joined using the standard high-strength nylon fastening handles.

HANDLE ASSEMBLY

For a quick and correct installation of Geotub® formwork, please follow these steps: All fixing handles must be fastened to ensure the specified strength of the formwork. The rotation direction of the handles does not affect their strenght.

1.

2.

3.

Juxtapose two semi-circular Geotub® parts;   Insert the high-strength nylon fixing handles from the bottom of the form up. Turn each handle by 90° to lock the parts;   The last handles at each end of the part junction flange are turned by 90° inwards;

4.

5.

6.

The locking of the handles is easier if these are inserted alternately from the two sides of the form joining flange;   The handle grip is indifferently oriented upward or downward, preferably without overlapping any two of them. (fig. 5 shows the ideal handle position). Continue coupling the Geotub® modular elements, interlocking them vertically and horizontally, until the desired formwork height has been reached. The full locking of all the handles guarantees the specified strength of the formwork and furthermore ensures the correct alignment of every part of the formwork;   Once the Geotub® column formwork is assembled, fix it to the ground with wooden reinforcements;

The plumbing of Geotub® is easy and fast: two standard props are enough to stabilise the form.   RESULT AFTER POUR AND DISMANTLING.

CONSTRUCTION and RESPECT: this is the vision that characterizes the work of Geoplast. To erect buildings respecting the environment. Starting from the choice of raw materials. Our plastic formwork perfectly embodies this principle.

THE ANNUAL WORLD CONSUMPTION OF WOOD IS EQUAL TO 53 BILLION CU FT, OF WHICH THE 55% IS USED IN CONSTRUCTION

After having exhausted the sources of timber in South-East Asia and Central Africa, logging is causing the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest which is considered the green lung of our planet.

During the last 3 decades almost 136 milion acres of forest were cleared in this zone, a surface equal to France surface. In view of this problem, we decided to contribute realizing plastic forworks, using a recyclable material which is the only possible eco-friendly alternative to wood and cardboard.

We realized them taking into consideration their weight in order to reduce the energy consumption. Energy is necessary for their movement and we think that this is a form of respect too.

REUSE

GEOTUB® is cost effective as it can be reused more than 100 times. Concrete does not stick to plastic, thus dismantling is extremely easy, and the form can be cleaned with just a little water, avoiding other detergents.

INSTALLATION ADN DISMANTLING

Setting-up the formwork and stripping after pouring are easy and fast operations, thanks to the special high-strength nylon handles that lock the elements with a simple 90 degree turn.

MODULARITY

GEOTUB® is a modular element with a height of 60 cm: it does not need to be cut to length as only the amount of elements required for the pour is used.

STORAGE

GEOTUB® can be completely dismantled and stored even in damp places.

ON-SITE HANDLING

Thanks to their small size and weight, the elements can be easily handled in the construction site, and can be easily assembled where required.
